Intervention in a small community

Ms Anna is the headmistress of the School and Kindergarten Complex in Zabełków in the municipality of Krzyżanowice in the district of Racibórz. She was reprimanded with a reprimand to her file because she refused to give up part of the school building to visitors from the Ukraine, which, according to her, would have been to the detriment of the children entrusted to her care. She was pressured publicly and arrogantly by the Head of the Municipality of Krzyżanowice, Grzegorz Utracki. He did so in the presence of school staff, and Ms Anna informed the parents of the children about the case. This again did not please the head of the municipality, who would probably prefer such matters to be dealt with quietly and he reprimanded Ms Anna.

The head of the municipality was interested in part of the buildings, which house the gymnasium, the teacher's and hygienist's offices, a classroom and a tuck shop. It must be stressed that the school does not have a playing field, so after a period of remote teaching and “online PE lessons”, pupils would again be limited in their opportunities for physical exercise.  The tuck shop, on the other hand, is the only place in the building for food; it is actually a small gastronomy, preparing fresh fruit and smoothies for the children. Ms Anna shows no animosity towards anyone and was only concerned with the good of the student community entrusted to her.

At the municipal office, MEP Grzegorz Braun and his colleagues Roman Fritz, Adam Kania and Natalia Mehlich were unable to meet either the head of the municipality or his deputy. Despite some obstructionism on the part of the Municipal Secretary, who was present on the spot, and thanks to the police assistance that arrived quickly at the request of MEP Grzegorz Braun, the intervention was carried out effectively and confirmed in the form of an official letter. In it, MEP Grzegorz Braun asks about the legal basis for the municipality's involvement in the issue of the reception of incomers from Ukraine, as well as the legal basis according to which Ms Anna Kubica would keep the matter secret.

We are all eagerly awaiting a response from the Head of the Municipality of Krzyżanowice.
