She was not fired, she was reprimanded

16-05-2022

On 6 May 2022, the third and final disciplinary hearing at the Lublin stage was held against Małgorzata Chodkowska, a teacher and librarian at the A. and J. Vetter Economic Schools Complex in Lublin.

Ms Malgorzata will not be dismissed from her job - she was acquitted of the charge of entering the school on a particular day without a mask on her face. The greatest danger to the teacher has therefore been dismissed for the time being. Thanks for this are due to Grzegorz Braun MP intervening in her case, to Michal Molenda, her attorney, and to all the organisations and individuals who joined in her defence.

The Disciplinary Committee for Teachers at the Lublin Voivode behaved according to the rule: run with hare and hunt with the hounds. It did not want to take the teacher's dismissal on its conscience, but neither did it dare to acquit her. So it cleared her of one charge, but kept the other two, similar ones.  Well, and left her with the gift of a "reprimand with a warning". Such a vacillating attitude on the part of the Commission may encourage the Disciplinary Ombudsman for Teachers at the Lubelskie Voivode to appeal against its decision if it finds it too lenient. Let us hope that this will not be the case.

We will certainly not be deterred by anything or anyone from fighting for Małgorzata's case to the end. Attorney Michał Molenda, announced that he, in turn, will appeal against the verdict of the Lublin Disciplinary Committee - this will result in the case being transferred to Warsaw, to the Ministry of National Education.

This may be a good thing, because the Lublin officials who are giving the normal people a hard time are from the current Ministry of Education, Przemysław Czarnek.

We will keep you posted on further events regarding Ms Małgorzata's case so that as many people and organisations as possible can get involved. For now, we thank those who have already done so, which include:

Prof. Mirosław Piotrowski and the C-19 Group, Prof. Ryszard Zajączkowski representing the Polish Association of Independent Physicians and Scientists, members of the Independent Trade Union "Freedom and Dignity", Adam Kania - coordinator of the Nuremberg 2.0 project, Agnieszka Pawlik-Regulska - president of the Association of Teachers and Educational Workers “Teachers for Freedom” - and many others.
